The Sustainable Kitchen

Sweden's Kronberg and Kalmar lead in food waste. Garbonomix sets "sustainable kitchen" standards by analysing consumption and waste-producing behaviour in Stadsmission's second-hand kitchen, providing a model for other kitchens.

Garbology Project in Marhult's landfill

A fire incident in 2015 led the authorities to find tonnes of garbage piled up in the Marhult industrial area. Garbonomix and a team of scientists and artists detect the the landfill's formation process.

Garbology Project in Öland, Sweden

Objects that have been abandoned along the coast get swept into the ocean and end up on the beach. Garbonomix investigates the behaviour that lead to object abandonment and coastal area pollution along the Baltic Sea's shores.

Tehran’s Garbage Project

The increasing inflation caused the poverty to be intensified in Tehran. A team of garbologists studied a middle class and a poor area in Tehran to explore the patterns of consumption and poverty in different social classes.

Bam Ethnoarchaeological and Contemporary Archaeology Project

After a dramatic earthquake in Bam (Iran), a group of contemporary archaeologists studied the post-earthquake abnormal conditions. One of the methodologies that the team applied was garbology.
